Theyarenotgreatcarsbutarecertainlyvery
goodonesthatdidallthatwasaskedof themand

tastethatwasat homein anysituation,beit as a
taxi,executiveexpressorcompetitioncar. The
famous180bhp‘BlackWidow’campaignedby
ErichBitter(anda youthfulNikiLauda)was
basedona two-doorRekordC saloon.

Africa(Ranger)andSouthAmerica(Chevrolet
Comodoro),theywerefamiliarvehiclesaround
theglobeandprobablydidmorethananyother
singledesignto changeOpel’s previouslydour
imageforthebetterin the’60s.
