Although the angular momentum quantum number l can attain larger values than “3” (there should thus be

more than the four orbital types; s,p,d and f) it is only in those four mentioned types of orbital electrons are

hosted. In Figure 1- 4 sketches of the s-, p- and d-orbitals are shown.
