Intruth,thiswasadisappointing
SerieA seasoninwhichnosidecame
evenremotelyclosetochallenging
Juventus.Theonlyrealisticpretenders
tothe crown,namelyNapoliand
Internazionale,fordifferentreasons
underperformedinthefaceofa
relentless Juventus.Ineffect,Juve
encounteredonlytworealsetbacksin

CoppaItalia,quarter-finalelimination
byAtalanta in January and,ofcourse,
muchmore significantly, theirshock
ChampionsLeagueeliminationbyAjax.
Carlo Ancelotti,inhisfirstseasonin

ofhispredecessor, Maurizio Sarri.Initial
hopesthathemightopenupa new
