Professor in the Department of Geography of the
University of British Columbia in Vancouver
(Canada) and holds degrees in Anthropology,
Latin American Studies and Geography. Raised in
Panama and Guatemala, Juanita is a feminist
political ecologist whose research has focused on
the politics and ethics of protected areas in Latin
America.
