essential skills: digital photography in available light

Opening all of the RAW fi les to optimize the color and tonality of the previews is not necessary.
If you open up just one image in the camera RAW dialog box this can be used as a template to
optimize the rest of the images in the image folder that share the same lighting and exposure.
To share RAW settings between images displayed in Bridge double-click on a single RAW fi le
thumbnail to open it into Adobe Camera RAW dialog box. Set the white balance, optimize the
histogram and allocate noise reduction and sharpening settings that you would like a range of
images to share.

Either save these settings in the RAW dialog box using the option in the Image Settings menu or
simply click Done to apply the settings to this single RAW image.
Note > Saving the settings is not so important as it was with File Browser because you
now have the ability to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ settings from the previews when working with
Bridge. When the RAW processing is complete you do not need to open the image in
the Photoshop editing space. Clicking on ‘Done’ in CS2 updates the settings without
opening the fi le.
