Flesh out the rest
of the boot. Then
redefine the sole,
and create the third
dimension for the heel.

Draw a rough triangle,
with a curved line cut-
ting through it.

Add some detailing on the

side of the boot, create the

detailing on the heel, and

add shading. Then, create

some creases on the front

and around the ankle.

Draw a vertical line roughly

parallel to the first. Then cre-

ate the heel of the boot from

the base of the triangle and the

profile of the front and sole.

Ink the main lines,

including the creases.

Then use black to

define the top of the

boot and make the

shading on the heel.

Some female characters wear a higher-heel boot for extra lift. This style is a chunky,

stack-heeled boot with a zip-up side and flat, wide toe. You can see how the heel

curves around the back of the foot in a smooth line, then creases slightly as the calf

bows outward again.
