Find Ways to Stand Out
Since your ad will be listed next to your competitors, you must
find a way to stand out. Consider color if it's in the budget. If your
competitors run large ads, you should too in order to avoid getting lost
on the page. Use a strong headline to grab the reader's attention.
Display the name of your company prominently, in a larger type size
than your body copy. Also, be sure to identify the area you serve.
Contact information—phone number, physical address and
Squeeze Page URL—should be in a larger type or of a bold color. Make
it easy to be contacted. This is yet another great way to drive traffic to
your website and build a list of targeted leads.
Write in personal style, listing the reasons people should do
business with you. Briefly state what your business is about, then go on
to list your benefits such as key services, and any incentives you offer.
Use bullets and short phrases.
While the investment for a Yellow Pages ad is not cheap, it’s an
ad that never goes away. It is set in place for the coming year working
for you while you are busy doing other things. Additionally, when
someone finds you in the Yellow Pages, it’s not an accident—they are
looking for you. Those are the type of leads you are after.
