separate from the milk or cream which solidifies into butter. The liquid that remained is
called buttermilk. So butter is ok for us to eat and it provides us with the good type of
cholesterol called HDL, which allows the building of brain tissues, fibers that cover the
nerve sheaths and all the cell membranes that cover them. Nutrition is the super factor
and the cornerstone of prevention. Nutrition is the answer to cancer as well as gout. It’s
the foods you eat! Cancer kills 21% and heart disease kills 52% every year; that is a total
of 73% of all deaths caused by these 2 main diseases. Many of these people who have
died from these 2 diseases have also suffered from gout. When you develop gout,
consider it as a strong warning signal that if you continue your bad eating habits that
you too, are headed towards the road of bad health and even death! You now have an
opportunity to educate yourself and follow a healthy gout diet plan, include some
exercise and lower those deadly uric acid levels that can destroy you.

Eighty percent of diseases are preventable with no drugs, no money and no doctor visits
but just by avoiding fat. So read the labels on foods carefully and watch for the number
of grams of fats per serving. By eliminating fat from your diet, you will eliminate 50% of
cancers with this step alone while you will eliminate 30% of it if you stop smoking.
Cancers caused by fat are colon cancer, cancer of the uterus, breast cancer, ovarian
cancer, prostate cancer and pancreatic cancer—all caused primarily by dietary fats. As
we metabolize fat, bile salts are produced. While it is true that bile salts are necessary to
digest the fat, but they are also carcinogenic and proved to cause colon cancer.

What do we eat then? We eat a diet that is high in soluble and insoluble fibers like
beans and peas, all fruits and vegetables, whole wheat pasta and whole wheat breads.
Both soluble and insoluble fiber causes the bowel to traverse the gut more rapidly—33
hours compared to 90 or so hours without it. Soluble fiber therefore, helps prevent as
much absorption of fat and cholesterol. Furthermore, magnesium taken with every meal
also helps prevent the absorption of cholesterol and fat. You can buy it at the pharmacy
but this doesn’t mean that you can eat as much fat as you want! Meat is the number
one source of fat in North America. While there’s nothing wrong with meat—it’s
best when you only eat 10% of it for your daily calorie count—you need to avoid
the meat of scavengers like pork at all costs. Too much meat in your diet probably
caused your gout in the first place too!
