Shangri La

The mystic land of the immortals is known in the Far East as Shangri La, and this dish will transport you there. This Asian-inspired dish is a

delicious remedy for a stir-fry craving. When it was first invented, it was actually called “Stir-Free.”

SERVES 4

¼ cup Bragg Liquid Aminos
1½ cups filtered water
Juice of 1 lemon
1 head broccoli, chopped
1 large carrot, shredded
½ small head napa cabbage, shredded

SEVEN-STAR SAUCE
3-inch piece fresh ginger
1 cup pine nuts, soaked 2 hours and drained
4 seeded, soaked dates, drained
2 tablespoons raw tahini
2 tablespoons white miso
Filtered water as needed

¼ cup chopped green onion, for garnish
1 tablespoon black sesame seeds, for garnish

In a large bowl, combine the Braggs, water, and lemon juice. Add the broccoli, carrot, and cabbage. Let sit for 1 hour or up to 10 hours.
To prepare the sauce, finely grate the ginger on a ginger grater or fine grater to extract its juice (you should have about 2 tablespoons). Place the
ginger juice, pine nuts, dates, tahini, and miso in a blender and blend, adding water as needed to create a creamy consistency.
Drain the marinated vegetables and transfer to a serving bowl. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and mix well. Garnish with the green onion
and sesame seeds and serve.
