Brownies
These brownies were one of the first raw desserts I attempted, thanks to my friend Sena, who taught me how to make them. Whenever I visited
her house, she would have these in the refrigerator waiting for me. (Pictured here)
SERVES 8 TO 10
2 cups dried figs, soaked in water until soft and drained
2 cups seeded, soaked dates, drained
2 cups sprouted almonds
½ cup raw carob powder
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups Nut Crème
In a homogenizing juicer with the blank plate in place, homogenize the figs, dates, and almonds into a bowl. Add the carob powder and the vanilla
and mix well. Form ¼ cup of the mixture into a 1-inch square and drizzle 2 tablespoons of the nut crème on top. Repeat for the remaining brownies.
Refrigerate overnight before serving.
