Banalmond Mylk
This power-packed drink is great for providing extra energy. It’s a favorite of a body-building couple I know. They say it goes right to their
muscles. As a variation, blend in 2 teaspoons of raw carob powder. (Pictured here, top center)
SERVES 1 OR 2
4 dates, seeded
2½ cups filtered water
½ cup sprouted almonds
½ vanilla bean
4 bananas, peeled, frozen, and thickly sliced
Place the dates in a small bowl, cover with ½ cup of the water, and soak for about 1 hour, or until soft. Place the sprouted almonds and the
remaining 2 cups water in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a wire-mesh strainer, discarding the almond pulp. Return the almond
mylk to the blender, add the dates along with their soaking water, and add the vanilla bean. Blend until smooth. Add the bananas and blend again
until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and serve.
