Flaxative
Flax seeds are a great source of fiber and can help to clean out the intestinal tract. This drink is a great way to help keep things moving.
SERVES 1 OR 2
¼ cup flax seeds
1 cup filtered water (optional)
4 apples, cored
2 bananas, peeled, frozen, and thickly sliced
The flax seeds may be prepared in one of two ways: Place the flax seeds in a bowl, cover with the water, and soak for 15 minutes, until the seeds
have absorbed all of the water and a gel is formed. Alternatively, grind the flax seeds into a powder using a coffee grinder or a small food
processor. Process the apples through a juicer into a large measuring cup (you should have about 1½ cups). Place the flax and apple juice in a
blender and blend until smooth. Add the bananas and blend again until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and serve.
