Seven-Step Service Delivery Sequence
The CIP approach can be delivered in self-help, brief staff-assisted,
and individual case-managed interventions through a seven-step
sequence (see Figure 8.4). This sequence is meant to serve as heuris-
tic for progressing systematically through the CASVE cycle.
Step 1: Initial Interview. In this step, a practitioner with appro-
priate training and experience gains qualitative information about
the context and nature of the career problem and the problem space.
