27.01 A grim milestone
“The UK had surpassed the 100,000 deaths mark, which really was a
grim moment in the pandemic. A few people made remarks suggesting
this cartoon was unfair, but I don’t think it is. That said, Johnson is
obviously not responsible for 100,000 deaths, but I’m damn sure he and
his government, with their slowness, are responsible for very many.”
07.01 Georgia on my mind
“This was drawn on the eve of the Capitol
Hill riots as Donald Trump was waiting
to find out the Republicans’ fate in two
elections in the state of Georgia. The
election was being rerun because of the
state’s rule that a candidate must take
50 per cent of the vote in order to win,
which none had managed in November’s
election. In the end, Joe Biden’s presidency
received an enormous boost with the
voters of Georgia handing control of
the Senate to the Democrats.”
