SMOOTHNESS REQUIREMENTS (see 7.1 in COMPLIANCE):
4.3.1.1.1 SHARP EDGES shall be eased with a fine abrasive. MM

sander:

4.3.2.1 Door and window trim over 2" (50.8 mm) in width with non-exposed ends shall be backed out. MM

4.3.3 SOLID-MACHINED and BLOCK-LAMINATED members shall be divided to minimize the exposure of cross
grain in the face of the member, and:

unless a small part size requires otherwise.
