When SLIDING (continued)
4.4.6.11.5 At HANGING TRACK systems, exposed track is acceptable and door heights of:

36” (914 mm) or less shall be equipped with
adequate top and/or bottom guides or runs. Sliding
doors in excess of 36” (914 mm) in height shall be
installed on hardware of a type optional with the
manufacturer.

4.4.6.11.5.2 34” (864 mm) or less shall be installed on the appropriate fiber or metal track, with top guide. MM
4.4.6.11.5.3
OVER 34” (864 mm) shall be installed on either the
overhead metal track with nylon roller hangers, or
the metal bottom track with sheaves and top guide.

At TYPE B construction, a continuous vertical filler strip shall be
provided in the opening behind the face frame and in front of the
rear sliding door.

4.4.6.12 When FRAMELESS GLASS:
4.4.6.12.1 Be a MINIMUM of 1/4” (6.4 mm) thick.
4.4.6.12.2 Be clear TEMPERED SAFETY GLASS, with:
4.4.6.12.2.1 Exposed edges GROUND. MM
4.4.6.12.2.2 Exposed edges FLAT-POLISHED. M
4.4.6.12.3 Any requirement for LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS must be so specified.
4.4.6.12.4 CARRIERS with metal track and top guide, and:

If needed to PREVENT SAGGING, bottoms of upper cabinets
shall be increased in thickness, provided with a hardwood track
member of sufficient thickness, or provided with a strong back
support screwed and glued to the underside.
4.4.7 APRONS require:
4.4.7.1 A minimum THICKNESS of 3/4” (19 mm), and:
4.4.7.1.1 BOTTOM EDGE banded. MM

ENDS and DIVISIONS require:
4.4.8.1 CABINET ENDS to be furnished, and:
4.4.8.1.1 OPEN ENDS or skeleton frames against walls are NOT permitted.
4.4.8.2 A minimum THICKNESS of:
4.4.8.2.1 3/4” (19 mm), except:
4.4.8.2.1.1 1/2” (12.7 mm) at face-frame construction. M
4.4.8.2.1.2 3/4”(19 mm) at face-frame construction. MM
4.4.8.3 EXPOSED ENDS be of integral construction, rabbeted or plowed to receive backs, and
horizontal members (excluding countertops) shall not extend beyond the exposed end.
4.4.8.4 CONCEALED ENDS allow tops and bottoms to extend past, if applicable.
4.4.8.5 The TOP EDGE of the end of cabinets:
4.4.8.5.1 If exposed or visible from above be banded with material of matching color and pattern to exposed exterior surface.
4.4.8.5.2 If open above; however, not visible, at 80” (2032 mm) or more above the floor be
banded with the manufacturer’s option of edge material.
