For DECORATIVE LAMINATE CASEWORK:
4.4.26.1 VISIBLE EDGES require:

4.4.26.1.1

Unless specified otherwise, the sequence of the edge/face lamination shall be the
manufacturer’s option.

4.4.26.1.2

HPDL or PVC a minimum of 0.02” (0.5 mm) and maximum of 0.12” ( 3 mm) at
the manufacturer’s option, color-matched to the exposed face.

4.4.26.1.3

PVC and ABS EDGEBANDING thicker than 0.04” (1 mm) be radiused on edges
and corners.
4.4.26.2 DRAWERS require:
4.4.26.2.1 FRONT and FALSE FRONT:
4.4.26.2.1.1 To be BANDED at all four edges, except when back-beveled.

DOORS require:
4.4.26.3.1 BANDING on all four edges matching exposed surfaces. MM
4.4.26.3.2 GLASS STOPS to be hardwood solid stock painted to match plastic or a
synthetic (vinyl, neoprene, plastic) gasket/retainer; however:
4.4.26.3.2.1 SYNTHETIC stops are acceptable on the inside only.
4.4.26.3.3 When SLIDING:

4.4.26.3.3.1 1/4” (6.4 mm) hardboard painted to match adjacent laminate is permitted. M

4.4.26.3.3.2 INTERIOR FACESHPDL balancing sheet. shall be a minimum of 0.020” (0.5 mm) thick

For SOLID PHENOLIC CASEWORK:
4.4.27.1 EDGEBANDING is not required.
4.4.27.2 DRAWER FRONT and FALSE FRONT thickness to be a minimum of 1/2” (12.7 mm).
4.4.27.3 DOOR thickness to be a minimum of 1/2” (12.7 mm).
4.4.27.3.1 GLASS CLIPS are permitted.
4.4.27.4 APRONS require a minimum thickness of 1/2” (12.7 mm).
4.4.27.5 SHELVES require a minimum thickness of 3/8” (9.5 mm).
4.4.27.6 TOPS and FIXED BOTTOMS require a minimum thickness of 1/2” (12.7 mm).
4.4.27.7 END and DIVISIONS require a minimum of 1/2” (12.7 mm) in thickness, and:
4.4.27.7.1 Applied ends are permitted.
4.4.27.8 SECURITY and DUST PANELS require a minimum thickness of 1/4” (6.4 mm)
4.4.27.9 STRETCHERS require a minimum of 1/2” (12.7 mm) in thickness and 2” (50.8 mm) in width.
4.4.27.10 BREAD/CUTTING BOARDS require a minimum of 1/2” (12.7 mm) in thickness.
4.4.27.11 At SOLID PHENOLIC, use of a 9/32” x 1-1/4” (7 mm x 32 mm) sheet metal screw is permitted
with the first screw 1-15/16” (37 mm) from each edge or end and subsequent screws 5” (128 mm)
on center, and:
4.4.27.11.1 GLUE is not required.
