MOBVOI TICWATCH
PRO 3 ULTRA
£ 290 , mobvoi.com
WearOS may just be maturing and coming into
its own. There’s a good software reason, in that
Google and Samsung are working to squish
Tizen (solid) and WearOS (often iffy) into a
combined whole to make newer versions slicker
and more stable. But Mobvoi’s latest Ticwatch
Pro doesn’t just demonstrate how good
WearOS can be; our experts’ early tests
suggest it has absolutely smashed it in terms of
lag reduction and smooth operation. It also
doesn’t miss a trick on the hardware side either,
maintaining the second battery-aiding old-
school LCD over-display of previous Pros,
squeezing in GPS and 4 G connectivity,
featuring the full gamut of health sensors, and
packing the whole lot within a military-spec
ruggedised case.
T 3 SAYS: It’s time for WearOS to put up a fight.
FUJIFILM INSTAX MINI EVO
£TBC, instax.com
What is old is new again. In the case of the
Instax Mini Evo, Fujifilm’s retro revival offers the
perennially popular instant camera some
concessions to the hipper side of modern
photography without sacrificing its retro
styling. Twist the wheel on top and you can
pick from a bunch of Insta-esque film effects;
rotate the lens and you get your choice of lens
effects, with a preview of your shot shown on
its 3 -inch rear LCD and microSD storage to
keep them on. You can also use your phone as
a remote, wirelessly transfer pictures from the
camera so they’re not forever locked to Instax
Mini film, or conversely send phone snaps off to
be printed in miniature. So the resolution isn’t
up to much and the autofocus is single-point,
but it’s an artistic tool with a lot of appeal.
T 3 SAYS: Who wouldn’t want to capture classic
moments in classic style?
