popular social network,Facebook
doesn’t let you scheduleposts on
yourpersonalaccount. However, you
can automateposts onpagesif you’re
anadministrator. Thisisgreat if you

outside businesshours (no,companies
aren’t payingsomeonetocomein
on 25 December andwritethose
‘MerryChristmas’posts).
Write yourpostasusual, adding any
photos ormediayou like, thenclickthe
three dotsbelowthe textfield.Press the
arrownextto‘Sharenow’tochoose
whenyou wantfollowerstosee your
post. You can alsoselect‘Stop News
FeedDistribution’, which setsa cut-off
dateafter which yourpostisnolonger
visibleinnewsfeeds.
Interestingly,you can alsobackdate
yourpost,which may beusefulif you

thenclickthe arrowtothe rightofthe
Send button. Thisreveals the optionto
‘Schedule send’. Choose a dateandtime
fromthe presetoptions,orclick‘Select
dateandtime’ toset yourown.You can
alsoaccessthisfeature inthe Gmail app
onyourphone bypressing the three
dotsonthe Composescreen.
Schedulinganemail froma Microsoft
account istrickier becauseyou can’t use
Outlook.comorthe WindowsMail app.
Instead,prepare youremail using the
Outlook 2010 -2019 mail client. Goto
Options,selectDelay Delivery, then
check the box marked‘Do not deliver
before’ andset a dateandtime.JustbecauseFacebook won’t let you
schedulepersonalposts,it doesn’t
meanit’s impossible. Postfity (postfity
.com) letsyou connectuptofivesocial
mediaaccountsfor free– including
Facebook,Twitter, Instagramand
LinkedIn.It alsocomes asa Chrome
extension (bit.ly/post479).
Start byconnecting yoursocial-media
profiles, thencomposeyourpostunder
the Createtab.Animage editorisavailablehere too,but don’t expect
Photoshop-leveloptions – it’s strictlyfor
making basictweakstophotos.If you’re

someinspiration,clickthe Post Ideas
tab tosee recentsuccessfulposts from
different websites.
Whenyou’vefinishedyourpost,press
the arrowbesidethe Schedulebutton
andpicka dateandtime.The postis
