Overview

Decades ago, when centralized HVAC systems were invented and manufac-
tured, their attendant needs for space, piping, ducts, and so on had a major
impact on the fundamentals of building design. Technology, telecommunica-
tions, control systems, audio/visual, and security systems are having a similar
impact on the design process today.
