Overview

A facility’s electric power management system (EPMS) monitors the power
distribution system for usage and quality. The EPMS, together with the
HVAC system and the lighting control system, are integral to overall energy
management aimed at controlling usage and costs. In addition, the EPMS is
a tool in managing and ensuring the quality of the power, that is, a power
source free from surges, sags, and outages that may affect the facility’s relia-
bility and safety.
