Record of a Friendship

P.S. I still don't know why the orgones can't work if I lie under the tin
with clothes on. Also, I wonder what effect the old armour of the middle
ages had on bodies which were almost completely encased. Interesting
speculation.

My dear Neill:
This is only a short answer to your letter of November 18th.
I do not believe that Einstein was so much afraid of it (though he was
afraid, too, as every other mortal), but more likely some of the pestilent
rumors had apparently reached him and obviously he wanted to be
careful. I cannot judge this interpretation of mine. I am usually inclined
rather to try to understand the actions against me than to be suspicious.

I wish I had much more of the paranoic qualities of other fighters who

smell an attack before it comes.
I hope and I wish that you would write more often. It is important
to keep in touch. You probably realize that your teachings are making
quite some headway in the United States, thanks to our journal.
To use the orgone under the cover with clothes on as you suggest
means that the clothes are taking away much of the orgone which
otherwise would reach the body directly unhampered.
Regarding the possible martyrdom of people who are representing my
teachings, I very often feel like withdrawing in order not to endanger
otllers. But, as I used to say, "I did not make it!" It is not my fault, but
rather the fault of the whole set-up of thinking and education that
endangers our people. It is left to the consideration of every single one
to decide whether he wants to confront the emotional pestilence or not.

You can be sure that I have never forced any one, and that I shall

never force anyone to represent my teachings as a politician would do.
I wonder whether there is some motive in you which inhibits your
succeeding in finding some metal to have an accumulator built. I shall
not be quiet until you have managed it.
Would you kindly let me know how you liked the last issues (Volume
II, NO. 2 and 3) of our journal. Give your opinion.
My best wishes to you and all our friends for a happier 1944.
