My dear Reich,

April 30, 1946
I have been long in writing to you. Am on holiday, and after
a busy term with too many visitors I feel tired, and spend the day
painting walls and mending the property, which is the best way of taking
a holiday. The army left the place in such a mess that there are years
of work to do on it.
Not much chance of my coming for some time, I fear. Ena is having a
baby in October, and that means no travel this year for me.
I don't seem to have much to write about this time. My thoughts
wander to golf, and I am prouder of my improvement in the game than
of my fame as a teacher. Golf is o me what skiing is to you I guess.
I am trying now to begin to get material to build an Akku. Self
interest wasn't enough, but now that Ena is pregnant and is having a
bad time with sickness, I want one for her.
When are we to have a book devoted only to the scientific side of
the Orgone? I'd like to give one or two to scientist friends.
No more to say. I am resting, knowing that summer will be one long
talk to hundreds of visitors... Gott, how tired of them I get, for they
all ask the same questions.
I am lecturing to the University of London Psychological Society
in May.

My dear Neill:
I have your letter of April 30th. First of all, I would like to
tell you how glad I am that you have joined us in having a child. That's
a marvellous thing. Please do not fail to have Mrs. Neill use the
accumulator very regularly. We have very much good evidence now
that regular use of the orgone accumulator helps the mother and the
child to a very great extent before and after birth. Another great help
is the direct irradiation of the nipple when the child starts feeding. It
prevents any soreness of the nipples, and is easy to apply with the pipe
and funnel. Please, don't fail to send me a photo of yourself, Mrs. Neill
and the little one, when it comes.
