I don't get your refusing to publish your Little Man speech. Why don't

Troubled about the terrific amount of hate among my Communist
friends. They seem to have so vindictive a strain about them. I always
feel that any Communist friend of mine would sign my death warrant
without emotion if the Party required it.
In your Fascism book you strike me as being too optimistic about
American democracy, but then I am not on the spot. Hardly one of the
many G.I.'s I spoke to during the war was conscious; he could tell me
how many miles of bolts were in the Brooklyn Bridge, but on life itself
he was a baby. And so many were Roman Catholics. I blush to say that
one of my oid pupils married an R.C. and took his religion in U.S.A.
But she came to me at 14 or 15 , said he lamely. Your books have made
me conscious of my cowardice in replying to lecture questions about
religion. I shall now fight the questioners boldly.
Though I hear Barakan is back he hasn't come near me nor phoned
nor written. Nor has the child arrived but it can't be long now. The
doctor says by its pulse it is a boy, and I wanted a girl and so did Ena
who has a boy of 13.
Are you doing anything about having an English publisher? Kegan,
Paul are bringing out a new complete edition of Jung in English, but it
is often so; the man who has nothing to say in 40 volumes gets publish ed.
If you agree I'll try some of the other well-known firms. I am impatient
to have England read you.
