cent sex in Parliament and any Minister will at once make urgent en
quiry and of course take the side of reaction and anti-youth.
I enjoyed the Bulletin very much. It makes such a difference now,
knowing people who were only names before. Only Mickey's* report
of the Conference doesn't convey the vitality and life of it, not Mickey's
fault; simply the necessity to condense.
How about that vacation you are to take? Sad that I won't be there
to boss you around this summer.
P.S. If S'hill IS closed what could I earn as Tom Ross's assistant plus
Honorary Compost Expert for the Frau Doktor? Reaction grows daily
here and I am sure I shall soon be on the carpet before stupid official
dom.

My dear Neill:
I just received your letter of April 12 th. I do not feel that
it will be easy for the reactionary government in England to take your
school. It is much too well-known and it would raise quite an upheaval
if they did try it. But I admit that the situation for progressive thought
and action is rather bad in the face of advancing statism. It does not
matter that this statism is carried mainly by socialists and communists,
since statism is statism, no matter who advocates. Furthermore, it has
by now become quite obvious that the masses, comprised of Little Men,
are basically reactionary.
I believe that the only way to stave off danger coming from reac
tionary officialdom against free education of children is to get the whole
sex question quite into the open, to stand up for it and to fight it
through, but of course not by beating up the sadist.
