Record of a Friendship

(Ben Green) #1

neurotic patients, but not touching the great fundamentals of existence.
I wonder when you wrote C.S. Dates may discount my theory that, after
you got rid of so much hate in Little Man, you took a great stride
forward into realms beyond good and evil. Your absence of dogmatism
is fine; indeed the whole theory of Superimposition just sounds TRUTH,
great truth never thought of before. The book makes me sadder than
ever that I won't see you this coming August. I shall not apply again
for a Visa. Another man, a Dr. Head who was one of the penicillin
pioneers, has been refused one seemingly on the grounds that he went
to Prague to meet other penicillin experts. He isn't in sympathy with
Communism either.
I am pessimistic about the future. I can't see how the drive to war
can be stopped. If the West thinks to stop communism by war or if
communism thinks it is its mission to overrun the world, war must
come, and we in England will be killed. And if war comes I and other
liberals will be shut up in prisons and my Zoe will have no one to help
her. It is deeper than West versus East; forces unknown to us are
working for hate and chaos.
So that, when I read your words of hope for humanity, I keep think
ing of the awful world you are speaking to.
Met a man Mackenzie, a garage owner, who reads all your books.
"Reich is 200 years ahead of his time," he said. I asked him how he
discovered you and he said through my books. I make a good John the
Baptist!
Many thanks for the presentation copies of Oranur Experiment.
