My dear Reich,
1955
January 15, 1955
Thanks for CORE. I said to myself: If I had never heard of
Reich and had read CORE for the first time I would have concluded
that the author was either meschugge [ crazy] or the greatest discoverer
in centuries. Since I know you aren't meschugge I have to accept the
alternative. I can't follow you ... is there anyone who can, barring
Raknes and Hoppe? You see there are so many contradictions. You
hold that the internal desert will prevent humanity from accepting a
cure for the external desert. But is that true really? Suppose you are
able to turn a chunk of Arizona desert into fertile land, will American
farmers refuse to use that land because of their inside deserts? Were
the two fruit farmers in Maine free from the internal desert when you
got rain for them? I incline to th ink that the internal desert does keep
scientists from accepting Orgones, the Bernals, Einsteins. They have
too much to lose, but the ordinary business man thinks of gain not loss.
The farmers who sow by the moon and Rudolf Steiner· are convinced
that they get better products.
Emotionally I can't see any proof that space sh ips have come to this
planet. Do they land and then go away at once? Otherwise there would
be some witnesses who took photos or spoke with the guys or at least
described them. I am not thinking of scientists; I am wondering why
