Introduction to The Hebraic biography of Y'shua

(Tina Meador) #1

(29) And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one
of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
(30) And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of
thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
(31) It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
(32) But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication,
causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
(33) Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but
shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
(34) But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
(35) Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
(36) Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
(37) But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of
evil.
(38) Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
(39) But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to
him the other also.
(40) And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
(41) And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
(42) Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
(43) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
(44) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
(45) That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the
evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
(46) For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
(47) And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
(48) Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect‖.

5:17 The Law

―Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill‖.

Christian Bibles consistently refer to ―the Law‖, meaning the Law of Moses. The Hebrew term for this is the
Torah. However, the correct translation of "Torah‖, is not "law" (not in the western legal sense of the word).
Rather, Torah is correctly translated as ―revelations or instructions from YHWH‖ for a blessed life.
When understood in its proper Hebrew context, here are some examples of what the "New Testament" says
about Torah:
Faith does not abolish any part of the Torah as a whole (Matt 5:17-20 as above, ―For whosoever shall keep
the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all‖.) (James 2:10)
Keeping the Torah is part of the faith that gets you to heaven (Matt 19:17 ―And he said unto him, Why callest
thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments‖. Rev 12:17 ―And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the
remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ‖.
Rev 14:12 ―Here is the patience of the saints: here" are they that keep the commandments of God, and the
faith of Jesus‖. Rev 22:14 ―Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree
of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city‖.)
You will abide in Y‘shua's love, if you keep Torah (John 14:15-23) as He abided in the Father's love by
keeping Torah (John 15:10; Heb 2:17-18, 4:15) See Scripture below.
(15) ―If ye love me, keep my commandments.
(16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for
ever;
(17) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth
him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
(18) I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
(19) Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
(20) At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
(21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me
shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
(22) Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto
the world?
(23) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love
him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him‖. (John 14:15-23)
