had finished three points above
the relegation zone.
They would enjoy a European
odyssey in the shirt, as third
place meant a place in the Uefa
Cup. There they produced one
of the great shocks in beating
Bayern Munich 2-1 in Germany
thanks to goals from Jeremy
Goss and Mark Bowen.
