TURNING UP THE VOLUME ON AUDIO

Perhaps one of the reasons why AirPods have
proven to be so popular in recent years is
because of their superior sound quality, and the
third generation does not disappoint. Apple
says that it’s built on the same sound quality
that AirPods is known for, ofering a new custom
driver and high dynamic range ampliier which
combine to ofer powerful bass with crisp,
clean high frequencies. The company has also
covered the microphone with a new acoustic
mesh that helps to reduce the sound of wind
and external noises so that voices can come
through more clearly when recording content or
speaking to someone over the phone, and they
feature AAC-ELD, a superior speech codec which
allows for a full high deinition voice quality,
ideal for FaceTime calls and setting the AirPods
apart from competitors. Apple says that the
new models use computational audio to bring
the breakthrough experiences that customers
love on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, such as
Adaptive EQ and spatial audio with dynamic
head tracking, without signiicantly ramping up
the cost or impacting battery life, which is great
news for consumers looking for an entry-level
pair of earphones.

AirPods 3 features Adaptive EQ, which
automatically tunes sound in real-time based
on how they it in a user’s ear. That’s thanks to
an inward-facing microphone that monitors
sound, as well as Adaptive EQ, which is powered
by computational audio and automatically
tunes the low and mid frequencies to account
for what may be lost due to variances in it. It’s
this level of detail and high technical prowess
that ensures AirPods remains the number
