THE FUTURE OF APPLE DESIGN

As Apple prepares to take its products in a
new direction with the release of the iPhone
12 and the new M1-powered Mac range, its
design language continues to evolve and
innovate. Where we go next will be particularly
interesting, especially when you consider that
the irm is working on entire new product
categories such as the long-awaited Apple
Car, as well as new ventures into products like
augmented and virtual reality headsets and
perhaps even the launch of its own Apple
Hotel to accommodate its colleagues and
professional visitors.

We can, of course, look to the design language
of the iPhone 12 to see where we might be
headed next for iPad, Apple Watch, and the
Mac, and we can turn to patent ilings for ideas
of the new features and innovations that will
be introduced to elevate these design changes.
Apple is reportedly working on a feature that
could act as a stand and an air vent for Macs,
for example, whilst an under-display Touch
ID ingerprint sensor is reportedly also in
the works. Now, Apple’s market position is
clear: the company knows what its products
should look and feel like and shall continue
to reine the user experience through design,
consistency, and integration with its software
and hardware that makes it an incomparable
market player. Though others are, arguably,
catching up and giving Apple a run for its
money, the truth is that the company is still an
unbeatable force to be reckoned with, and as
its design language continues to blossom, the
future is bright for consumers.
