Ethiopian-Swedish chef Marcus Samuelsson,
who laces upscale comfort food with a world
of flavors. Grilled salmon is garnished with
peanuts while ‘dirty rice’ features aged basmati.

with potatoes and lingonberries. The menu is
largely the same and significantly cheaper at
lunch and on Sundays when it hosts a popular
gospel brunch.

movement, this elegant country restaurant sits
atop the Rockefeller estate that is also home to
Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture,
a non-profit educational center and farm that
provides much of the restaurant’s bounty.
Instead of a traditional menu, expect a multi-
course farmer’s feast based on the day’s harvest.
Meals often include a flourish of little bites
leading up to the main dish, as teams of waiters
present each course by lifting silver cloches off
each plate in synchronized service to reveal a
locavore’s dream. Make a day of your visit and
explore the surrounding fields and pastures.
