and other villages associations we went to the District Commissioner and
discussed the issue in detail and succeeded in bringing an order banning the
selling alcohol in the village.
This too was short lived, after some months, the selling of illegal alcohol in
the villages started anew, and lead to a big quarrel; Once again, a case has been
lodged against 13 women including me. This case is still in the Court. We are
in the process of working out the next strategy to stop the selling of alcohol
in the village.
Despite all this trouble and all these cases, my husband and other family
members respect me a lot.
I am also actively involved in the child labour eradication programme, and
have recently sent four working children from brick making units back to
school.
