A Proven Pattern
Since 1984, I have recorded my “God Talks” by following the
same pattern every single day. Those of you who are familiar
with me—through books or speaking engagements—have
undoubtedly heard me share about the simple idea God gave
me to keep my two-way conversations with Him stored in a
refillable notebook. My Partner Prayer Notebook 1 has ten
tabbed sections that for over twenty-five years have kept my
two-way conversations with God accountable and organized.
The first four tabs are the sections in which I talk to God and
the next six tabs are the sections in which God talks to me
during our daily, one-hour appointment.
People often ask me, “How do you fit all these aspects of
prayer into one hour?” And I answer, “Believe me, if I didn’t
have a system to follow, I’d easily spend most of my time
requesting, some of my time daydreaming, and none of my time
with God, admitting my sins to Him.”
So all these years, I’ve used the same simple but inviting
design for recording my conversations with God. In fact, I’ve
taught this system to millions of adults and students at events
or through radio and television shows. Most important, since
1984, I’ve never had any reason to give it up or change it up.
My track record—and that of hundreds of thousands of others
—proves that it works for the young or old, busy or easily
distracted, and especially for the not-so-organized people who
desperately want to connect with God on a daily basis!
