You can also cover these four sections in an abbreviated
format: In two minutes each: Praise God, using a psalm. Admit
the most recent sin (anger toward a co-worker, not telling the
truth, etc.) you committed, and write it down—use
abbreviations if necessary. Begin a Request list of the five
closest people to you. And write a one-paragraph note of
Thanks to God for something small, or great!


Listen Up!


At this juncture in your “God Talks,” you should begin to talk
less and listen intentionally to God talking to you, giving you
His thoughts, ideas, and directions.


· Talking to God is where you ask questions.
Listening to God is where you receive the answers.
· Talking to God expresses your true intentions and motives.
Listening to God purifies them.
· Talking to God is easy for some.
Listening to God is hard for most.
· Talking to God invites His presence into your life.
Listening to God surprises you with His love.

After you spend time talking to God through words of
praise, admission, requests, and thanks, continue your two-
way conversation with Him by expectantly listening for Him to
