submitted a thesis on “The Concept of the Islamic State as found in the
Writings of Maududi”. Article 227 of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan
says “All existing laws shall be brought in conformity with the
Injunctions of Islam as laid down in the Holy Quran and Sunnah”.
