- Since Schwartz-Barcott’s bibliography refers to Richard Bell’s Quran
(Edinburgh, 1952), it seems hard to believe that Schwartz-Barcott was
unaware of the importance of understanding the chronology of the Koran
(Bell is one of the Western scholars who discusses this subject). See
