- As part of the Western mediaʼs collaboration with the religion of war, the
1979 siege of Mecca is virtually forgotten. Hundreds of devout Muslims
from all over the world smuggled in huge amounts of armaments (hidden
in coffins) into The Grand Mosque and commandeered the mosque. With
100,000 Muslims trapped inside the compound, the jihadis held off the
well-equipped Saudi military for weeks. See Yaroslav Trofimov, The
Siege of Mecca: the Forgotten Uprising, London, 2007. The siege, and
the killing of people by these devout Muslims in The Grand Mosque,
were not condemned by the most senior Islamic clerics in Sunni Islam.
Mohammed Qutb, brother of the violent and fascistic Muslim
Brotherhoodʼs principle ideologue, had been living in Saudi Arabia for
years, along with thousands of other members of the Muslim
Brotherhood. ↵
