Apostle went out to the Musalla [to offer the prayer] of ‘Ida
lAdha or Al Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and
said, ‘O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority
of the dwellers of Hellfire were you [women]. . . . You curse
frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not
seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than
you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some
of you.’’[19]


Also, as we have seen, the Hadith even contains hints that
black Muslims do not enter this Paradise (see question 45).
Muslims today would prefer to ignore such embarrassing
elements of the Hadith, but they cannot expunge them.


From a Christian perspective, such an ‘‘eternal
discrimination’’ against women (and other races) is entirely
foreign to the teaching of Jesus. In Galatians 3:28, St. Paul
enunciates the equality of all before God in the most
eloquent terms: ‘‘There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
neither slave nor free person, there is not male or female; for
you are all one in Christ Jesus.’’ All those who are saved
are, therefore, admitted into the presence of God irrespective
of race, worldly status, or gender. Only our fidelity to the
will of God — that is, how well we have responded to His
grace — matters in the end.

The Muslim vision of the end times is filled with
bloodshed: ‘‘Allah’s Apostle said, ‘The Hour will not be
established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone
behind which a Jew will be hiding will say, ‘O Muslim!
