heaven, and fashioned it as seven
heavens. And He is knower of all
things’’(Sura 2:29).
Allah created heaven first, then earth:
‘‘Are ye the harder to create, or is the
heaven that He built? He raised the
height thereof and ordered it; And He
made dark the night thereof, and He
brought forth the morn thereof. And
after that He spread the earth . . .’’ (Sura
79:27–30).
Jonah was cast on a naked shore:
‘‘Then the big Fish did swallow him,
and he had done acts worthy of blame.
Had it not been that he (repented and)
glorified Allah, He would certainly have
remained inside the Fish till the Day of
