must accept this gift by striving to
follow the commands of Christ and by
responding to His grace. If a person
claims to have accepted Jesus and yet
lives a life of serious (that is, objectively
mortal) sin, it is doubtful that he or she
has really accepted Jesus and His grace.
Such a person is placing his or her
salvation in serious jeopardy.
