5) The Night Prayer (Isha).
[ 8 ]There are also numerous
nonmandatory prayers in Islam. These
have to do with life events:
Prayers for the dead at a funeral.
These are considered to be of great
importance for the soul of the deceased
and are generally well attended. Prayers
for rain, for healing, and for asking a
favor from Allah.
Nafela prayers, which come before
and after every mandatory prayer. These
are the most important nonmandatory
prayers. The Nafela prayers are believed
to strengthen and develop the believer’s
spiritual bond with Allah. They are one
manifestation of Muslims’ genuine
attempt to observe and imitate the
example of Muhammad.
