I saw you lying dead. Fallen in *
battle. Your face clean-shaven. *
Duncan is briefly shaken -- but Paul’s last words flood his *
face with relief. He claps his hands. *
DUNCAN *
Whew! Okay! Not gonna die! *
(points to his beard) *
I shave for no man! *
PAUL *
Duncan... *
DUNCAN *
That’s why you want to come with *
me! Listen. Dreams make good *
stories. But everything important *
happens while we’re awake. Because *
that’s when we make things happen. *
He claps Paul on the arm and heads back to his men... *
DUNCAN (CONT'D) *
I hope the girl part’s true! *
Paul stays behind, lost in his thoughts, out of arguments. *
