KLIPSCH

● Wet behind the ears
Should 21-year-old McLaren
driver Lando Norris soak you while
driving through puddles in the
pit lane (bless him, he’s only just
passed his test), the IP67-rated
charging case is completely
waterproof on the outside, while
on the inside the reusable moisture
removal system draws sweat and
water away from the buds so they’ll
be clean and dry for their next
outing (see our battle of the UV
self-cleaning buds on p32).

● Earily quiet
These Bluetooth 5 AAC and aptX
buds include beamforming mics
with CVC (clear voice capture) from

Qualcomm (no longer a sponsor of
rival F1 team Mercedes) to reduce
environmental noise during calls.
They’ll have their work cut out
with revving F1 cars, but Klipsch
has seen fit to include six pairs
of patented oval silicone tips,
pressure-relief memory-foam
tips, and three sizes of ear-wings
to suit your flappy lugs.

● Neither ear nor there
Don’t worry if your F1 allegiances
lie elsewhere: you can get a pair of
T5 II Sports without the McLaren
branding or wireless charging pad
for £209, or the standard version
(with fewer eartips and a different
case) for £185.

The racetrack hasn’t been
a happy hunting ground for
McLaren F1 in recent years,
so it’s a good job its true
wireless buds look like
such winners.

● Ear all day
Klipsch’s T5 II Sport McLaren
Edition buds come in a rugged
24-hour charging case that
includes a special moisture
removal system and its own
wireless charging pad. A new
external antenna design, which
boosts the signal to reduce
interference, also means they’re
25 % smaller than the original T5s.
