What’s the story?

Recovery is an essential part of

any fitness regime; but if you’re

like us, it’s hard enough to find

time to get a workout in, let

alone book a massage or

torture yourself with a foam

roller afterwards. Percussion

therapy guns relieve muscular

aches, push out knots, help

improve range of motion, boost

blood circulation and basically

reduce post-exercise muscle

soreness or help you limber up

for a session.

Hyperice has a high-torque

60W brushless motor with

three levels of punishment

pressure, five interchangeable

heads for targeting specific

muscle groups, plus Bluetooth

connectivity and controls

that automatically adjust

as you follow a guided routine.

Hyperice is a big deal: it’s

recently signed deals with

the NBA and, sadly, Tottenham.

Is it any good?

If you’ve ever experienced the

sweet agony of a good foam

roller recovery session, you will

love the Hypervolt. It’s brutal,

targeted and brilliant at blasting

away workout stiffness, and

a few minutes a day will make

a big difference.

You don’t need Bluetooth for

it to be effective, but embrace

the tech and your body will

thank you. It pulls data fro m

your fitness app (iOS only),

analyses how hard you worked

and creates a recovery routine

for you, even changing speed

based on different body parts

to maximise its effectiveness.

Battery life is three hours.

At over £300 the Hypervolt

Bluetooth is certainly a bit of

an investment – but given

that an hour’s professional

massage will cost you at least

£50, it’s an easy purchase to

justify if working out is a big

part of your life. If all you do is

jog around the park a bit and

do a few burpees then we’d

recommend a £15 foam roller

for now... but when you do

this thing should be on your
