We’ve noticed performance bugs. A

firmware update will sort it, we’re told.

Skype is supported for group calls,

but no Zoom integration in the UK.

I like the Home Monitoring setting and

you can control the display remotely.

An undoubtedly handy but far

from essential upgrade on the

previous Echo Show

This is the best Echo Show to date,

and that’s down to its genuinely

useful rotating ability. It makes apps

that require you to look at the screen

instantly more appealing, as they’re

always in front of you when you look up. The

speaker is also pretty good, making this is an

impressively versatile device... but £240 is a

lot if you already have a Show. @MattWTate

n Turn a blind eye

This 10.1in 1280x800

display isn’t going to

replace your telly, or

maybe even your regular

tablet for streaming films,

but we found it adequate

for watching a bit of Song

Exploder while cooking.

n Turn it up

With what is essentially

a standalone speaker for

the first time in this line,

the Echo Show 10 is a

decent audio source for

the kitchen or living room.

It’s not quite up there with

the Echo Studio, though.

n Turn it off

You might want to switch

off the Adaptive Brightness

feature for entertainment,

though – while it’s gentler

on the eyes in regular use,

it dulls colour reproduction

in TV shows. And the big

bezel can be an annoyance.

n Turn heads

Sound isn’t 360° like the

standard Echo, but the

speaker rotates with the

screen so the front-firing

tweeters can be pointed at

wherever you are for the

best results. You can tweak

the EQ in the Alexa app.
