Textual Notes

In Islam it is believed that the Prophet is
the human norm both in his spiritual and

earthly functions and/ that wi thout Muhammad the


world would never have been created.


Although Muhammad is believed to be the son


of ADAM, he was, nonetheless elected for his


prophethood befo,re ADAM was created by God.


Hence the f;IA.DITH, 'I was a prophet when ADAM
was still between water and clay.' See Note
