Wesuspectyou’retalkingabout
atoolthatcamewithavideo-
capturedevicefromthelate
noughties,calledEZGrabber.Wedon’t
haveeitherthehardwareorthesoftware
but,giventheirvintage,it’sreasonableto
assumethataWindows1 0 updatehas
renderedthemincompatible.
Windows 10 ’s Compatibilitymode
mighthelpyougetthesoftwareworking

again.Touseit,pressWindowskey+Eto
launchFileExplorer,thennavigatetothe
program’sinstallationfolderorsetup
disc.There,lookfortherelevant
executablefile–EZGrabber.exe,say,
orsetup.exe.Right-clickthisfileand
choosePropertiesfromthepop-up
menu(seescreenshotabove).Next,
inthePropertiesbox,clicktoselect
theCompatibilitytab,thentick‘Run
thisprogramincompatibilitymodefor’

andchoose‘Windows7’fromthe
dropdownmenu(seescreenshotabove).
Thereareafewmoresettingsyoucan
trylaterifyourfirstattemptdoesn’t
work.ClickOK,thendouble-clickthe
relevantexecutablefile.
