hookandline.
Therearebasicallytwotypesoffishinghooks:thosewith
aneyeattheendandthosewithout.andtherearedifferent
knotsforeachofthesetypes.Technicallyspeaking,fishing
knots do not constitute a new category but simply a
regroupingaccordingtotheuseforwhichtheyareintended.
Asweshallsee,allhookknotsfallintothecategoriesthathave
already been discussed: theycanbe classifiedas stopper
knots,hitches,loops,etc.
Forthesakeofclaritywehaveusedlargehooksandheavy

familiartoanglers.Thiswillmake themovementsandthe
structureoftheknotssimplertofollow,butobviouslya great
dealofpracticeandsubtletyofmovementwill beneeded
whenworkingwithsmallhooksandgut.
