Introduction
This Anthology is to be used for students taking the Advanc ed GCE in Religious Studies.
The list of extracts at the end of each paper in the specification must be studied by all
students; this inc ludes the work of two named sc holars for c omparison. The c ontext in
whic h these texts c ould be studied is indic ated by brac keted numbers in the
specification, (1) for example. These extracts are not exc lusive to the topic areas under
which they appear; students will need to be able to apply these extracts across any
suit able t opic.
Please note that the Bible extracts 1–4 for New Testament Studies are also to be used
for students taking the Advanc ed Subsidiary GCE in Religious St udies.
